Right now we are collecting signatures on a petition around Baker County that will be sent to Amtrak, the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA), and Oregon legislators to make it clear that there is demand here, and to add our voice to those of similar groups speaking up in Boise and southern Idaho.
Our goal is to deliver this petition before the third FRA working group meets in February 2024 for “Route Identification” and to ensure that they know that Baker County is paying attention and interested in passenger rail being restored here.
It is also immensely valuable for each of us to take 2 minutes and write a comment on the FRA Study's website to make Baker County's voice heard.
